1972. Our origins
It was from the intuition of three partners that T.I.F. Elettronica was founded, a company specializing in the installation of access control solutions and security systems. This is where our journey begins.
1990. The intuition that changes everything.
From research into the automatic management of parking areas, an idea takes shape—one destined to revolutionize the industry: the first automatic bollard designed for traffic control. In a single word, PILOMAT.
1994. The first successes.
The company’s official debut comes with the first installations across the national territory, starting from Vinci (FI), followed by Bergamo, Milan, Lake Garda, Volterra, Perugia and Lucca. Italy begins to know—and trust—our name.
1995. Time to grow.
Participation in the first industry trade fairs, in Urbania and Padua, strengthens the brand’s presence. The range expands with new models.
1996. Pilomat Energy.
The experience gained in designing bollards also inspired the creation of the first multi-service tower capable of integrating power, telephone line, compressed air and water. The Energy line is born.
1996. The first type approval.
The Pilomat AL/610 model is the first bollard in Italy to obtain type approval from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport. A guarantee for those seeking new safety standards.
2001. The beginning of expansion.
Pilomat begins exporting its products beyond Italian borders. The first international projects are completed in Bratislava and Germany, paving the way for a distribution network that continues to grow to this day.
2007. The first crash test.
At the company, the 275/K12-900 A bollard is designed and manufactured, capable of stopping a 7,500 kg truck traveling at 80 km/h. The crash test, successfully carried out in Texas, marks Pilomat’s entry among the major players in the sector.
2008. A new beginning.
Pilomat becomes an independent company and moves to Grassobbio (BG). From here begins a new phase of global expansion: installations multiply and the brand gains international recognition.
2012. Pilomat Gulf is born.
The opening of the Dubai commercial branch strengthens relationships with the Middle East and reinforces our presence in new international markets — a result we are extremely proud of.
2015. The range expands.
Electromechanical bollards are introduced and the High Security solutions are expanded with Road Blockers, Barriers and Tyre Killers.
2016–2020. Joining the Hörmann Group.
In 2016, Pilomat became part of the Hörmann Group, which completed its acquisition in 2020. The synergy between know-how and technologies led to the development of new cutting-edge solutions and strengthened our service worldwide.
2022. 50 years of success.
Pilomat celebrates half a century of history and takes new steps to strengthen its global presence as an ambassador of security, 100% Made in Italy.
2023. Under the banner of sustainability.
First in its sector, Pilomat obtains the EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) certification for two bollards: the High Security models 275/K12-900A and 275/K12EMB-900A.
